Bernard Amell

Bernard Amell is the founder of Riparia and the senior environmental designer. He completed his Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture at the University of Guelph and moved to Calgary in 1975 to begin his career in Landscape Architecture. Bernie always had a love and passion for water and how it interacts with its environment and humanity. He soon began focusing his career on designs for wetlands, ponds, streams and sustainable urban drainage. This focus led Bernie to establish Riparia in 2001, allowing his passion for ecological design to flourish.

Katelyn Inlow

Katelyn Inlow is a junior environmental designer at Riparia. Katelyn completed her Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture at the University of Guelph. To focus her career on ecological design, she went to the University of Waterloo to complete a Masters in Environmental Studies, with a thesis focused on Ecological Restoration. Shortly following the completion of her Masters, Katelyn joined Riparia at the start of 2011. She is now working towards her affiliation with the Alberta Association of Landscape Architecture and the Society of Ecological Restoration.
