The open character of the uplands surrounding Dinosaur Provincial Park lead to acute concern that the visual experience within the park would be substantially altered by the creation of a lattice tower powerline along the perimeter of the park. This project involved an early application of computerized visual impact assessment techniques. The locations and height of the towers were selected in relation to park user viewing opportunities. The project received a national honour award from the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects in 1983.
